Happy Things, the third

Today has actually been really crazy. A faucet on the outside of our house started leaking last night as it was snowing, so my dad shut off the water entirely. This morning, my mom and I went to turn it back on, but for some reason couldn't, so I went up to my friend Alex's house to shower and hang out. For some reason I find that that's the first place I seem to end up when I get home from break. Well, this summer he got out after I did, so it ended up being that I was the first one over after he got home. So, after showering, we went out to lunch. Yum, teriyaki chicken extra spicy. Then he dropped me off at home and Phatty was supposed to come get me so we could do some Christmas shopping, but halfway here he called to say that it was hailing really hard and the roads were getting icy again. He didn't want to go to the mall if it would mean that it would start snowing and he wouldn't be able to get home later, so he turned around and went back to his house. I then helped my dad install a new faucet on the outside of the house, and now we're watching the news with a fire in the fireplace, drinking beer leftover from the second keg from my dad's 50th birthday party over the weekend.

So, while crazy, it's been largely happy overall. Adventure-like in a way, like the power outage of '06.
